Gone!

The other day we had do do a bit of banking and such in Saffron Walden and on our way there as we crossed the old wartime aerodrome RAF Little Walden I saw that one of my favourite trees had gone... I suspect it was taken away because it was in the way of the bigger farm machines using the old taxiway. Whatever the reason, I can't help wondering was it really necessary to fell it...

I've been photographing this tree for getting on for 10 years now, at all sorts of time and in all sorts of weather... I'm going to miss it.
