Abstract Thursday

We're delighted that we're "expectant grandparents" for the first time: Son#1 and his wife are expecting a baby in January. As they now live in Toronto we'll be planning a trip there early in the New Year - of course! Actually however we're also planning to go over there later this month to see how they're settling in and to begin to orientate ourselves to the geography of the Toronto area.

How does this relate to today's blip? Well, my Editor has just started work on knitting a baby shawl, as you do. When she ventured into her bag of knitting things she found a rather chaotic tangle of wool leftovers from previous "knits": naturally I grabbed a photo of it (and then fiddled with the colours) for today's AT challenge, hosted by Ingeborg.

This was a handy quick blip as it's been another busy day - catching up with little jobs this morning then visiting my Dad this afternoon. The latter was extra-nice as we had a Skype call with Son#1 in Toronto while I was there. After I got home I decided it was time to pick the (cooking) apples from our 2 trees - what a bumper crop this year after last year's disappointing 6 apples in total - I've filled a large old laundry basket to overflowing! It took about 2 hours as it's quite a tall tree so I was using my long handled picker for the higher fruit which is a bit of a fiddle.

Now: Don't forget: September is just starting so it's time to think of a silly blip again for the first Saturday of the month this weekend, in memory of course of Admirer who set up and hosted the challenge for so long. So please get your silly thinking caps on again and post something fun, silly and/or just plain weird this Saturday, 3rd September. Blipper 60plus has kindly agree to host the challenge this time. The tags will be SilSSep2022 or SilS309.
