Turbulent Times #7

Turbulent times continue and I’m not just referring to Putin’s sabre-rattling, concerning though that is. I am referring to the newly formed  government’s plans for the winter of discontent which is coming our way.

The £ is crashing against the $
Borrowing is soaring
Unfunded tax cuts have been implemented
Interest rates are climbing
Inflation is at 10% and likely to rise
But hey-ho, bankers bonuses are now uncapped so all will be well!

I fervently hope that those who live in poverty and those vulnerable people who rely heavily on benefits will not be overlooked by this government.  They deserve sufficient support to allow them to heat their homes and not have to cut back on the number of meals they eat daily.

As Nelson Mandela said, “A nation should not be judged by how it treats its richest citizens, but by how it treats its poorest ones.

Not looking promising that there will be light at the end of the tunnel.
