A Trip to the City

We’ve been so immersed in this gorgeous land that we truly haven’t spent any time in Reykjavik. I feel like the city deserves several days unto itself. But that, perhaps, is for another adventure.

But we decided that today would be the venture-into-the-city day. After some research we decided to visit Perlan - Wonders of Iceland. https://www.perlan.is/en-gb
It’s a fabulous museum with several immersive exhibitions about the history and natural wonders of Iceland. It was fabulous and we enjoyed it immensely. Somewhere is the middle of our stay we had lunch on the top floor, under the dome. Incredible 360 degree views of the city and surrounds. And the lunch was awesome too!

I haven’t been able to edit my photos on my iPad so these are literally iPhone shots at this point.

The main is in the Ice Cave, a replica of an ice cave in a glacier. Perhaps best suited to abstract Thursday, but here it is nonetheless. The exhibit was extremely well done and yes, it was COLD! Freezing in fact.

The extras are the view from the restaurant dome of the City of Reykjavik, the dome itself, and of Energia (Gwen) in her element.

We fly back to the States tomorrow - me to Portland, Oregon and Gwen to Rockville, Maryland. What a phenomenal adventure! Isn’t Blip an extraordinary place?

Which reminds me….we have an idea :-)
