Nectar

Ivy flowers are continuing to be an important source of nectar for the few butterflies that are still about. In this patch, on a southwest facing, sheltered woodland fringe, I saw Speckled Wood (4), Red Admiral (3) and Comma (2) within a couple of minutes.

Later, I headed down to Valley Parade where Bradford City were hosting Leicester City U21 in the group stage of the EFL Trophy. The Bantams will be disappointed to have let a two goal lead slip against the youngsters. 2-2 meant the game proceeded to a penalty shootout to secure an extra point. The Leicester goalkeeper continued his good form to help his team to a 4-2 penalties win.
