Roof terrace moment

Dinner this evening with a long-time friend. Carl very unselfishly offered to be designated driver, partly because he was keen on being clear-headed for tomorrow's Grand Prix lunch hosting.

It was a beautiful evening, sunny, remarkably clear, warm and really pleasant. Our host's place is in Ashtown, near the railway and the canal. His is a penthouse apartment with a magnificent double-height window wall with a fabulous view over towards the Dublin Hills. The late evening sun tempted this pair across from where we were to venture out onto their roof terrace for the last of the rays.

Most of the world's and the country's problems were sorted out around the dinner table before we made our way back across town. An excellent evening.
