My topsy-turvy life

Fully posable

All smiles before the operation as he posed happily in his latest Pjama Faries gown, it was a different story when he came out.

The usual early start as we headed up to Manchester for dilatation #17. Luckily, we were at least 1st on the list this morning. Owen had some new Mickey Mouse lego* to keep him occupied while we waited to go down to theatre and took all the pre-op checks in his stride. He was a bit more anxious as Louisa took him down to theatre before we got breakfast as we waited. It only takes about 30 minutes or so but it's always a nervous wait.

We could hear him crying as we walked into Recovery and, seemingly, it was because we weren't there when he woke up. It took him a while...and food...and Moana & Maui toys...and a ride in a Tesla* but he recovered ready for the journey home and the usual stop at McDonald's.

Thankfully he only needed a lateral flow test this time as opposed to a full swab and isolation for 3 days...and 2 parents were allowed on the ward too!
