Day 13 in the hospital

The chairs that we sleep on in the hospital are extremely uncomfortable and it’s very difficult to sleep properly on them.  We are getting so tired, I’m not sure how much longer we can go on like this, but we really don’t have a choice.

We’d taken our porridge for breakfast.  All that it required was to be reheated in the microwave. It was delicious - so much nicer (although some might not agree) than an almond croissant.

Mum had a reasonably peaceful night and was awake on and off during the morning, although her lucid periods were quite brief.  The nurses are so kind and caring in the way they look after her.  Brother and sister arrived about midday and we had a handover so they knew what had been happening in their absence.

We caught the 75 bus just before 1pm, then had a 15 minute walk home rather than catch a connecting bus.  If we don’t do that we’re going to seize up.  MrMacD defrosted some sourdough bread, which I had with avocado and fresh tomato.  Just delicious.  After lunch I started work on the calendars that need to be posted out tomorrow.  The others on the list will be delivered by MrMadD and me.  Daughter and son-in-law send calendars to their clients every year and rely on us to get them despatched or delivered.

After supper we finally opened the gifts that our walking group friend delivered yesterday.  We don’t know what is in the package wrapped in cellophane and I don’t want to unwrap it yet because it’s so pretty.  The red bag contains some bliss balls and chocolates.  I love the Christmas snowman. Aren’t people lovely.

Now it’s time for bed, otherwise I think I’ll fall in a heap.
