Sally Mair - Loving life

By Sallymair

I've got this!

Boxing Day today and Ali and family came to celebrate with us. At one point there were 11 of us. Such a happy atmosphere, it was lovely. Polished off the last of the turkey and many other things in a grazing style, extended lunch. Still haven't had any Christmas cake or pudding, falling behind here!
Ali's one request was Prosecco so we presented her with a magnum which she quickly opened and distributed.
My sister has not been feeling great so we ended up today at the out of hours service at the Western General. We had great attention from a very effective doctor. Amongst other things bloods were taken and the results phoned through a couple of hours later after we got home. Hopefully none of the major outings are responsible for her symptoms but we're keeping an eye on her (or at least others are as we are away) for a couple of days with strict instructions that if certain things happen she gets to A&E asap.
I finally got my glass of Champagne after all the excitements of the day, when I no longer had to be the driver, at 9 pm. Hopefully I'll sleep well.
The system, after an initial long wait on the phone, kicked in fairly quickly and she had a call back from a clinician, then an appointment at the clinic all within the hours. Fingers crossed all is well.
