Lytham Windmill

Over the last few years we have made a habit of visiting Blackpool and the Fylde Coast on New Year's Day.  This year was no different.
Late afternoon we had a stroll along the Promenade at Lytham.  The windmill is situated at the Southern end.
Built in 1805 to grind wheat and oats to make flour.  In 1919 it was destroyed by fire and the remains were gifted to the town in 1921.  It became Grade II listed building in 1951 and was fully restored by Fylde Borough Council in 1989.
It was a lovely afternoon with a fine sunset (see extra) - but it didn't last.
The Blips were taken around 3.30pm, and at 5.00pm  the rain came - and it was serious rain.  A drive through 'the lights' followed by Fish & Chips in the car - in the rain - at 6pm.  Altogether an enjoyable day :-)
