Weathering it

In all honesty I find December a difficult month and I'm relieved to roll into January and a new year. But of course we are still in the midst of winter here; today the sky was bloated with rain, the sea rough, great swathes of seaweed on the beach... but the local kiosk with its tables under canvas, was open, despite a lack of custom. In the summer it's so beautiful here, and H and I often stop after our swim. Just seeing the tables, weathering the winter, waiting for those sunny days to come around, reminded me that Spring is just around the corner. That's a nice thought.
