In the East End

I needed to pick up some mounting board for a photo project, and this took me to a retail park in Sheffield's East End.
En route, the light was good, in between showers; I took the opportunity to revisit a sculpture I've photographed before - 'The Blade', outside the 'Ice Sheffield' skating rink.  For some time  I've wanted to see if I could capture the contrast between the echoes of the steel industry that used to dominate the East End, and the sports,  leisure and retail enterprises that have sprung up there since the decline of large-scale manufacturing.  Many hopes were pinned on these forms of regeneration.
They are a work in progress - the sculpture photos, that is.
Later I picked Eben up from school, and took him to his swimming lesson. As ever, this was a pleasure.
