Gently down the stream

Fisher folk

It strikes me that - apart from robins - the two birds I'm seeing most of right now are herons and kingfishers.  Poor old fish must be having a hard time.

It was beautiful (and very cold) when I went out - one of those icy pale blue mornings.  I had every intention of going to the reserve, but the young heron was looking so fetching I never got further than the Nuns' Stream.  Handsome bird, eh?

Even this afternoon when I went out with Hazel it was still frozen solid.  Outside my front door the large pots were glued to the plant saucers and the saucers were iced to the step.

Happy Tuesday evening/Wednesday morning, lovely blippers  xx
