Down the beach

Quite a busy day today.

This morning was sunny and bright and Chris had organised a camera outing to the beach to photograph the birds. Off we set but the tide was way out and the birds were almost as far out. As for those in flight, I only saw them after they flew overhead on their way out to sea … and who want a photograph of their receding tail feathers?

D and I walked north toward the village and I started shooting into the sun. I liked the strong contrasts in this one and decided to change it to black and white which works better for me.

This afternoon was book club where we discussed the choice for January, The Paper Palace by Miranda Cowley Heller. Three of us enjoyed the book and there was much discussion about the characters and storyline. We agreed it would probably make a good film and wondered if they would change the rather enigmatic ending.
