Small Section Of Front Border

The gardeners arrived at 0830 hours and spent the day clearing some parts of our overgrown garden, which has been neglected since COVID-19 as neither of us are now fit enough to manage it all! I was amazed at how much work they completed; they were still clearing up at 1730 hours when it was almost dark! They will be coming again for another day next Friday and possibly one more day to get the whole lot tidy so that they can maintain it and cut the grass to keep it in order.

One of the small front borders was cleared, pruning two wisteria bushes and trimming several rose bushes and some other shrubs, so today’s picture shows just this small section of the front garden once it had been cleared. The pillar took them a quite a while to remove the ivy. In the extra picture, taken the day before you can see the pillar before they started work. Victoria and I cleared this pillar about six years ago; it took us all day!!  The ivy on the wall is yet to be removed as well as an Elder that should not be growing there. The picture had to be lightened as it was far too dark having been taken as it was getting dark, which is why the house looks overexposed.

The temperature at noon today – thirteen degrees Celsius.
