Seeing the light

Last time I came past Pishill church it was dull and overcast, ideal conditions for seeing and photographing the stained glass windows. This morning the south wall was bathed in sunshine so I went in to see the light. I am sure that when John Piper created the design for this small lancet window he knew exactly what would happen. The window is known as the 'Sword and the Gospel' (my original blip is here). When the sun is shining on the window the sword appears as a giant red cross running along the floor and up the choir stalls. My blip shows a close up of the light as it reaches the wooden edge of the choir stalls.
