First day of autumn

It's autumn, and right on cue the red flowering eucalypt in a nearby garden has stopped flowering. It was spectacular during the summer with its large stameny blooms and even when spent the nuts as per my photo are sculpturally elegant. Given their size, I believe this eucalypt is a west Australian species.

The extra shows some foliage.
