Paris café

We went for a late evening meal today at this nice café, just a two minute stroll from our hotel. It had a really nice atmosphere and a friendly waiter, which helped make the food even more enjoyable.

I was completely shattered and felt quite ill earlier in the evening, after a really long day yesterday getting here from Inverness (starting with less than 2 hours sleep ) and then today exploring and walking about 6 miles (from our hotel to the Museé Rodin, via Les Jardins de Luxembourg). I had to have a nap and then a bath to start feeling normal again! Tomorrow we plan to do a little bit less walking and try the buses out ;-)

This is my husband's first ever visit to Paris (he's a New Zealander). He's been wanting to come here for the last 25 years or so, so it was about time! And I haven't visited Paris properly since 1990.

My extras show Rodin's 'The Thinker' and 'The Burghers of Calais', both at the Museé Rodin; cherry blossom in Les Jardins de Luxembourg; rubbish piling up on the pavement (the result of a 16 day strike); a political message to President Macron (referring to the Pension age protests); and lastly, a very striking doorway that I walked past.
