The Far End

My day starts with a 50 minute telephone consultation with one of my consultants at Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine. I’m hoping to feel clearer about the way forward by the end of this, but I just feel exhausted by the questions and confused about what’s happening next. We’re so very close to starting TB treatment (the same position we were in a year ago) but because my case is so atypical, and because there’s still another vaguely possible diagnosis - she wants me to have yet more blood tests, CT scans and see two further specialists. It just goes on and on - and I’m sure you’re all as weary as I am with the situation; I just feel in an exhausted state of limbo …….

At least I’m feeling better than last week, and G packs some lunch and takes me out to Bodnant. Sadly, the blue skies we leave behind at home have all but disappeared when we arrive, and rain is in the air. Still, Bodnant’s spring displays are beautiful of course, and I’m feeling well enough to make it to the Far End. Here the lake is at its best, still free of weed so offering reflections of both blossom and the bright green of early foliage.

There are daffodils, of course, but I’m not happy with my shots, so they will have to wait until another day ….
