What a difference a day makes……

Yesterday was a gift of a day and I am so pleased that I took advantage of it, spending most of the time outside in the sunshine.
Today it is colder, very wet, especially this morning and with a cold wind.
It was tough to hear earlier today that our son’s eyesight in his left eye is still deteriorating, after three weeks of copious tests and examinations, steroids and antibiotics, still no clear diagnosis.
He was going back to the hospital first thing on the train.
We went to see my friend Bobbie this afternoon and took her out to a local hotel for a coffee, as she is now not allowed to drive her car. A thing she is bitterly disappointed about, as it curtails her independence even more.
Evidently her two daughters, who live in London with their respective families, have been talking to her about going to live there.
A thing she vehemently does not want at all.
A retirement complex would be a good alternative, but it’s not up to me to discuss that. She would benefit from having more people around her, and she would be safe.
It is now teatime and once we were back home, I went into the garden and took this photo of the primula which is in flower. They seem to survive all kinds of weather, from extreme cold to frost and snow, as well as baking sunshine.
And yet they look so delicate.
