Hiding Muslin Moth

Wonderful day to be out today. I got plenty of photos of orchids and butterflies, but I really liked this one of a female Muslin Moth, Diaphora mendica, that I disturbed and sent off to hide under a Hazel leaf. It clearly felt safer in this green gloom, much as I do sometimes with the blinds drawn on a really sunny day.

This is a moth with striking sexual dimorphism, with the male smaller and a dull brown-grey colour compared with this beautiful pure white female (not obvious in the green gloom!).
