Food Bank - answered prayer

The new warehouse accommodation for Canterbury Food Bank is taking shape. Today we did some cleaning and finished off some painting. Some more shelving will be delivered next week and we will transfer the remainder of our stock from the old warehouse.

It's answered prayer because we had to vacate two smaller warehouses on Canterbury and Whitstable at fairly short notice. We looked at several commercial propositions at £400 plus per month. When we pursued one that seemed suitable the agents seemed loathe to progress it. We had prayed that God would shut the door on anything that would not be right and he did. Finally, with a week to go we were offered this space for free! How about that! It will serve our operations throughout the Canterbury City Council District, which includes Herne Bay and Whitstable.

We have given out over 300 emergency food parcels since the end of January and now have two distribution centres operating with a third planned for September.
