Sea Hare

<back blip>

Today was my first day out diving with South Queensferry Sub Aqua Club, (SQSAC) which I joined recently (alongside my other club). What a great day! Both sites were new to me - a nice little wreck this morning and a nice scenic this afternoon.

The scenic was a rocky slope with occasional bits of wall, and was covered in life. There were lots of juvenile animals including tiny scallops, fingernail sized flatfish, tiny shrimps and millions of hermit crabs. The highlight was the sea hares however.

I've seen red sea hares before, but the sea hares here were more grey and there were thousands of them. Many of them were mating in pairs, or even in stacks - each one has both male and female apparatus and so you can stack them like lego bricks!

MrsCyclops banned me from posting any of the pictures of mating sea hares as they were too pornographic (?!?)* so instead we have a solitary one...

* The restraint required to not make a "prawnographic" joke here was huge
