Heavenly...

What a fantastic year this has been for honeysuckle - at least here in our garden! We've just finished an al fresco supper, accompanied by the glorious scent of this honeysuckle which is growing profusely in the back garden supported by the trunk of a dead cherry tree. What makes this plant even more special is that it started life as a cutting from Colin's mum and dad's garden, and I suspect might even have originated in his maternal grandfather's garden so it connects us with loved ones long gone.

We've now had a couple of weeks of mainly sunny weather which has made an enormous difference to the garden especially compared with last year's apology of a summer. I find that the sunshine has a hugely positive effect too on everyone's mood - so long may it continue! Hope you've had a good evening too!
