Getting ready for the 5k

While doing our own '5k' - i.e. a walk around the paths of almost exactly 5kms - we got slightly mixed up amongst the preparations for the 5k run due off at 11am, as part of the Leith Health and Fitness Festival, today in Leith's Victoria Park, a fundraiser for a local charity, apparently (Looking after our Elderly). We didn't stop to take a closer look as we were intent on doing our walk more or less continuously, as a test for how the old knees are (not bad, thanks), but there were various stalls up, and kids trying hoola hooping, and various other improving activities were promised.

It all looked a bit precarious. The cyclist was dismounting every couple of hundred yards to chalk directions onto the tarmac and was obviously planning to plant signs saying, presumably, 1k, 2k, 3k, etc. to guide the runners.
