A Liver Bird

One looking out to sea, the female, the other, a male facing overland, not shown.

A good day, a bus tour to cover some areas we wouldn’t have time for, a good move.  Afterwards a late breakfast in a vegetarian/vegan cafe, mostly very good, particularly the decaf coffee.  And on to the museum of Liverpool, but, Monday it is closed, how annoying and with no plan B in place. I wanted to find out more about why Chinese men were sent back to China in 1946 after helping out during the war effort.  Anyway the internet was useful, what a disgrace, a drive led by the Home Office under a Labour government Chinese men had been rounded up, taken from their families and placed on ships bound for China.

We walked away from the tourism, there are any number of fine looking buildings to look at, many mentioned on the bus tour names now forgotten.

Later a visit to the cinema, what a treat!  I was keen to see The Salt Path, all very easy to process in the foyer when buying a ticket, (oh goodness the price has increased somewhat, shows how long since our last visit), and good to chat about the film afterwards with John over a hot chocolate. I read the book sometime ago and hoped John was ok to watch the film, he was.

After wandering through what is called the Soho area we had an excellent pizza, made with a sour dough base, the best base I have eaten with a glass of organic red wine, Italian of course. The two young people looking after us proved to be very friendly and helpful.  Later we came across a peaceful demonstration supporting Palestine, it was loud and rousing. Car drivers tooted their horns with plenty of shouting from everyone.

Extras
Cavern Club and all that goes with it along this road with very loud music, although the wall of fame was good to read, I have a small portion in a photo, and one of me looking up to the statue of The Beatles.  I insisted John take this after he decided I wasn’t serious when suggesting it, I wasn’t, but a change of mind is allowed.
