Deadheading

I half filled the green bin with dead rhodo blooms, then turned my attention to the lilac bush.  That was proving more difficult; daughter-in-law was not around for guidance so I consulted YouTube.  "Yes", I was told by a very believable gardener, "this is the perfect time to deadhead / prune back lilacs so next year's blooms can set over the rest of the summer".  
If I learn from the DIL that I was too aggressive I'll blame it on the YouTube gardener. :)
