When the sun doesn't shine & Its cloudy & grey

I had a moment this morning.

Himself was having a long lie - He's been working really hard recently on the plot, and today is a down day.   I took the car to work, and took a detour to admire the efforts of our wee town.

It's Glasgow Taxi Day.   Taxis will set off from Kelvingrove Park about 11 am and drive folk down to Troon for a day of fun and entertainment.

It's gone on for years. Since 1945... Oh my 80 Years!!!   First year was to Saltcoats.

all Along our Beach (Barassie North Beach, as opposed to Troon South Beach), every single bollard has a Knitted bunnet on.   Amazing effort on behalf of a team of volunteers - there are well over 200 [bollards not volunteers].

I turned into Barassie Street.  Not a street with Shops - but there just as I sat at the traffic lights - this Tenement Flat had decorated itself to extreme!

A lady came out of the next close.  Wednesday Morning face on, locked her door and then turned to face the road.  She saw the balloons and streamers and her face lit up, and she laughed and stood back and admired it.

My reaction to her was the same as her reaction to this.

I drove on and the lady who had decorated the bollards, was decorating the Traffic lights at the Supermarket -  lengths and lengths of Knitted bunting.  I shouted "Thank you" to her - and her face lit up.

As i drove round the town, all the shopkeepers were out - bedecking their shops with Balloons and streamers.   It was too early for Girvans - the local pub which is the mainstay of fundraising in the town.  They always go over the top.  One year - Wrapped the whole pub up in Christmas Paper, and everyone of their regulars were dressed for Christmas with multiple Santas and Mrs Claus, Reindeer and elves.

It was the same all round the town; even the excess of traffic cones to stop people parking wasn't dampening the mood.  (they were all parking in between them)

A lovely Warm Feeling to start the day.
