A New Walk in the East
Our walk this time started off down by Tyninghame Links (the car park is welcome and not not too pricy at £3.00 a day). The walk started off relatively straight forwardly up around St Baldred’s cradle then along the beach at Ravensheugh Sands to the end when we stopped for lunch. The next bit was not so easy, about an hour or so clambering over rocks with and without seaweed (I picked up a good sturdy stick which helped) this ended up on the beach at Seacliff then up to a car park and then a walk through farming land, mostly on small roads back to the car. It was, for us, a longish walk at about 15km (30 000 steps) made all the more tiring given the scrambling and the unrelenting sun. We made it back to North Berwick in time for a much needed tea and coffee before the drive back. The main image is Tantallon Castle from the walk back up from Seacliff. The first extra is the rock that is Bass and the second extra is the smallest harbour in Scotland at Seacliff, one wonders if it was worth the effort.
