Lung Oyster

This was growing on a particular fallen tree, as it does every year. It’s grown from nothing in just a few days.
When we arrived at Hamilton Wood this morning we were met by the wren and song thrush, both singing beautifully. Further on they were joined by a chiffchaff, blackbird, goldfinch, chaffinch and a robin.
Due to the recent rain, all the greenery was looking lush. There are still lots of foxgloves to be seen among the trees. There was a lovely scent of honeysuckle and elderflower. I even picked a handful of ripe wild cherries, which were sweet and juicy.
