No rain

After days of very high temperatures, and frequent forays with the hose to keep the pots watered, we were looking forward to a change. It was said we would have lower temperatures today, and a forty per cent chance of rain. We couldn’t wait! The day dawned with heavy cloud, and it was a little cooler. Yes, we had rain, but just a very few drops, not enough to wet the ground. Now, at 4pm, the sky has cleared and there is a gentle breeze. It is a beautiful afternoon, but I shall have to go out there with the hose again!
