Diocletian’s Palace

Mostly good day today which started with thunder and lightning and torrential rain. This necessitated tying down things outside and getting soaked in the process. But at least it was warm.

We then headed out to Split to view the remains of Diocletian’s Palace. This is a monumental Roman building of the late 3rd/ early 4th century AD. And although it is now the old town of Split, what remains is stunning and gives a fantastic idea of the scale of buildings created for the Roman Emperors.
