If You See Red...

... shoot it. I believe this is an old adage from photojournalism. It's certainly true that red is an attention grabber. There is not much red in my journal recently (or at all), perhaps I like flying under the radar. 

These are red elderberries (I think) and if so, they are edible. Red is a danger sign as well though, so I won't be risking a nibble. Either way, they were plentiful on the edge of the wood - I'll leave them for the catbirds and the robins (their rule is "if you see red, eat it").
