Wet Beach Day

We started off with a walk along the beach, letting the boys have a little clamber over the rocks. My heart was in my mouth as Jasper carefully navigated the rocks - convinced he would fall as he's so super clumsy but he did really well. And so did mummy who just stood back and let him experience it for the 1st time. The boys also wrote their names in the sand. I didn't even know they could write!! I was very impressed!
We went for breakfast at Sea Spray again where the boys ordered a babychino and some carrot cake. All was going well until Jasper caught his cup with his fork and hot milk went everywhere. He was so upset that his clothes got wet. Daddy was the opposite end of the beach with the change of clothes but we managed to calm him down eventually and the staff brought him another hot milk and an extra cup of marshmallows.

We headed back to the beach to find our old hole to keep digging and make Sandcastles. The men didn't like the mixture of rain and sand so headed to the beach bar so us girls (and Sam!) could carried on digging.
DN1 then took the boys by the hand and took them for a paddle - unaware how quickly the tide was coming in so I had to call them back. They were up to their waists with in seconds. A bit scary.
It was my turn to cook today. Being Sunday I decided to cook the whole family a nice chicken roast. It was well appreciated. Brought back memories of the old days.
Tonight is our last night in the apartment where we were treated to a very slight glimpse of a sunset!!
