In the Hidden Garden
There's not a lot stirring in the garden, or indeed in the house. It's 32ºC ambient and fiercely burning if you dare expose yourself to the Sun. Who's mad enough to do that? Oh, ok.
We managed a 30km cycle ride early this morning, back before it got too intolerable. Then we headed indoors with blinds and doors adjusted to keep the temperature somewhere sensible (the indoor temperature when we got back was around 42ºC in the extension, which is awaiting delivery of sunblock blinds), while we watched a couple of memory waking and traumatic episodes of Band Aid at Forty.
I tried for a hoverfly in flight over this Erigeron daisy, but finally settled on this flying ant not in flight sweat bee - mainly because, if you go large, there are some most interesting not-petals hiding in plain sight.
