Aiguèze

We took the afternoon off and took a drive out to a small medieval town called Aiguèze.

It took about an hour to get there from Célas, which was a lovely journey, although we were grateful for the car's air-conditioning.

Having parked up, we took a walk around the little town, enjoying the various shops and old buildings. The sun was beating down, though, so after perhaps twenty minutes, we took refuge under a large umbrella outside a restaurant, and had a late lunch.

After that, we explored a little part of the town we'd missed on our first excursion, finding a small church and some gorgeous views of the river (see Extra).
