Beware!
A Cinnabar Moth caterpillar on a small clump of Ragwort across the road in front of our neighbour’s house. She and I are delighted but I don’t think the farmers will feel the same - they try to get rid of any Ragwort in case their livestock is affected.
Apparently the caterpillars are not poisonous until they eat the Ragwort and ingest toxins as they feed. They are brightly coloured as a warning - Beware! Do not eat me!
We’ve had a lot of rain today - it’s been raining most of the day actually. So what do you do on such a day - you go and buy a barbecue and some patio chairs as B&Q think Summer is over so they might as well try to get rid of stock.
