Pleased I had my trip out yesterday because today’s weather has been horrid. I got the ironing done.

The met office map showed a break in the rain around 3 o’clock for an hour. I was ready to do a few jobs outside.

Three plants needed tying back to their supports, one of them being the Crocosmia which fortunately I photographed before I shook the water off. The Echinops (globe thistle) is a problem as the wooden stake has broken at soil level and there’s no way I’ll be able to hammer another in.

Once the back garden was sorted I went into the front with a bucket and old kitchen gloves to unblock a drain that’s been overflowing (again).
