Full of promise

This Agapanthus is just starting to open. It isn’t the most colourful, white tipped with lilac, but it is the most prolific. 25 buds counted so far which isn’t  as many as the 32 we had last year. The extra was taken earlier in the week with a smaller blue one in the foreground. I have some flowering in pots too and keep thinking I should move those into the ground to see if it has the same effect.

The new rose, purchased last month as a gift for our golden wedding anniversary back in March, has got more flowers opening. A rich creamy yellow, perfect for the theme of golden.

Quite hot and sultry today but I did manage a bit of gardening this morning. I was pulling out some weeds which Chrus suggested I let grow as they have quite pretty flowers. Big mistake, they also have huge roots. Pulling one clump out I fell over backwards ending up on my back between the bench and the greenhouse. Luckily I didn’t go through a window in the green house!  My legs were over the border wall of sleepers and I had quite a struggle getting up! Luckily no damage done to me or any thing else.

Stormy weather on the way we’re told. My son is heading to Royal Port Rush for the Open, hope he doesnt get too wet!
