Living my dream

By Mima

Supervisory duties are exhausting

The sun shone again. No frost overnight was a treat. The day was spent in the garden.

This will be the onion bed in a few weeks' time. Today was the day to weed it (including pesky twitch roots to haul out) add compost and unclog the holes in the watering pipe which is laid back and forth along the bed under the weedmat. Now it is ready for the yet-to-be-sown onion seedlings.

One raised bed down, four more to go...

Mulch has started to go onto the flower beds in an attempt to reduce weed infestations in summer.

During my tea breaks I sat on the deck and podded some of the beans. It is always a much more time-consuming job than I expect. I'll get the rest done tomorrow. And more mulching. And perhaps another raised bed will be prepped. Among other things.

There is a definite change of gear happening Chez M&B.

Incidentally the two objects bottom right are overgrown rotting cucumbers which I dug into the soil after it was weeded.
