Saturday
Catriona, a non camper, had been a bit worried about what we would actually do on our weekend away. Just have camping days, Kate and I promised her airily. And do it was.
Leisurely breakfast, a pile of washing up and then off for a fine walk, expertly led by Kate and her ordnance survey maps in her phone. Slight initial detour after the cows in the field we wanted to walk through were very interested in us and worried we were leaving them behind as we retraced our steps. There were quite a few of them jogging to keep up with us, we were pleased to leave that field. And then it was glorious- paths, woods, a stunning wild flower meadow. We were all well happy.
Back to the campsite for lunch in the pub, Rosie dined from the dog menu- I couldn't really tell you what she had- it was meant to be sausages but she had her head fully in the bowl as soon as it arrived.
Then chit chat, knitting, napping, a spot of Grand Prix quali, before regrouping for scones, jam and clotted cream. Kate made us my favourite veg chilli for a later dinner - we didn't go hungry at any point.
A proper good camping day with lovely friends.
