Conkered!
Storm Floris kicked in this afternoon after a morning of sunshine and showers. The rain has been intermittent, but the wind very strong. Our neighbours windsown silver birches were going wild, bending and swaying with the heavier gusts. (Extra)
At time of writing, 11pm, the storm has almost blown itself out I think. Ali's flight, originally due in at 1.05am tomorrow is expected at 1.40, I think it must have a tail wind as it left an hour and 5 minutes late due to earlier delays. The pilot has assured them it will be a smooth flight so that's good news. Hopefully the wee ones will get some sleep
I went to Ali's this morning with some essentials for when they get home. My next stop was the cattery to pick up Cleo. She's been very affectionate this evening, clearly glad to be home.
I offered to pick Katy up this evening when she finished work. I really didn't like the thought of her cycling across town and the bus takes well over an hour. To my delight she accepted so I headed out to get her at around 7.30. We managed to get her bike in the car so she'll have it for tomorrow morning, so that's good .
My blip was taken on the way, lots of not quite ready conkers blown off the tree, Shame that they didn't get to ripen.
I passed several trees with large branches broken off on the way to pick Katy up. Nothing too serious though thank goodness.
Thank you for the warm welcome home.
