Simple Solution
P is feeling a little more like himself today, but he still spent the day mostly in bed - too feverish and wobbly to get up, let alone leave the flat. So we cancelled all his planned birthday celebrations, and I only went out on my own again for a walk and some shopping at Peter Jones (extra), mostly for P who doesn’t get to enjoy any of the London treats and experiences he has been looking forward to.
As I walked through the steets of Pimlico and Chelsea, I saw many electric cars being charged from lampposts, like in the main picture, and discovered that there are sockets in most streetlamps. How clever is that?
In Germany, the lack of public charging points still is one of the biggest obstacles for people who would like an electric vehicle, but don’t own a house and garage to install their own charger. And the city councils are always complaining that they don’t have the money and space for more charging points. Using the existing lampposts is such a simple and elegant solution.
