Aquamarine/Nanna K's Day

By NannaK

SP with son #1

The Gulf Islands are very dry, there is fire hazard and a burn ban. We can’t burn our trash and I’m sure the well is down. So besides the fact that we are tired of sun, we NEED some rain. It didn’t rain more than 5 drops in the night. Cloudy morning but Tatum wanted to go to morning beach on Galiano Island again. By the time we got ourselves there, the sun was out! Then in the afternoon it got darker and darker and we thought Yea, here comes the rain- we can play in the studio! (with the last of the saturday afternoon radio opera of course. Il trovatore) Tatum and I worked on a large “crayon” we made out of part of a driftwood log, and she made some duct tape pouch and treasure box, Fiona painted a cement frog and bird and strung some beads for a necklace, Kirsten worked on beads and her driftwood hanging and I made some gelli prints. (a la Musings...).............AND IT NEVER RAINED. ( only a few more drops at dinnertime . pathetic.)

The blip is son #1 with his Mom (me :-)) and youngest daughter, Fiona. Peter is responsible for the wifi we have just gotten- (he’s been working this week, so he says...) Tatum took the picture with my camera at morning beach and since I hardly ever get a picture of us in the same frame, I decided why not -it’s not all that bad....for sunglasses :-)

Added a few more to Girls Week on flickr
