A time for everything

Mother and young

It was actually dry when we arrived in Manchester, though not for long! Roger's parents live relatively near to Manchester Airport, so we were soon there. I never used to have much trouble staying up for that first day, having flown overnight, but the older we get, the more difficult we find it, and sitting infront of the TV watching Wimbledon certainly wasnt helping! So eventually, once it had stopped raining, we went out with Bernard for a walk to Appleton Reservoir, to wake ourselves up! This unfortunately had been the scene of a tragedy last month, when a 16 year old boy jumped in and drowned. This afternoon it was very peaceful however, the still water just being disturbed by the ripples from the mother coot and her young.
