It seems the railways used to be much more colourful, although I sense that these fine models haven't quite captured the smoke, soot and coal dust of the era.

A small part of one of the many exhibits at the 35th Shipley Model Railway Exhibition, our second Saltaire Festival event of the weekend. I admire the way the modelers convey such a strong sense of place.

Earlier, the sun lured some butterflies out: a few Speckled Woods and a solitary Comma visited the garden.

And for yesterday, a hairy caterpillar back blip.
