Mud glorious mud!

Looking at the work produced by visitors to my studio yesterday I am struck by its sheer energy, vibrancy and freshness.

Admittedly most of the people were artists, musicians or writers yet not one of them had ever worked in mud before.

This image was created by Roy Petrie a Glasgow based artist who worked for many years on The Herald as a graphic designer (we are former colleagues).

None of them were aware until they arrived to see my exhibition of mud paintings that they were going to be asked to make a contribution too.
I think most were astonished at themselves especially those who claimed they could not draw.
My friend Libby acted as a facilitator and explained they did not necessary have to draw – that it was all about making marks on paper.
