The Lozarithm Lens

Wick Hill

When I visit Chippenham, I often eschew the modern A4 and instead use one of the older back roads, and am rewarded by views like this one of the mud flats of the Avon valley to the west of Chippenham. This was taken from Wick Hill, just below Maud Heath's monument, which recognises the Causeway she bequeathed so that market traders could escape the mud taking their livestock to market in Chippenham. There is a bench seat where I took this picture from that faces this view, and is a welcome resting spot for walkers and cyclists making their way up the hill from Bremhill Wick.
