Louisiana Capitol

This is my travelogue/post card photo of the Louisiana capitol in Baton Rouge--the tallest capitol building in the USA...450' and 34 stories.

It was built under the "reign" of Huey Long as governor--he wanted it that way. Four years later, as a US Senator, he was shot inside this building.... oops! You can still feel a couple of ricochets in the marble in the hallway near the site.

Kingfish is buried over to my right. I guess they did not want to carry him far after he died.
