Left this jackdaw checking out our chimney pots while we went up the road to try and determine where the chimney's leaking at my late mother's bungalow. Needed a rain-free period for Mr PP to hose different bits of the chimney systematically from the roof, while I looked up the chimney indoors (with the aid of mirrors). What happened? The blue sky disappeared and the heavens opened - first rain, then hail. Oh well! Away with the ladder. Away with the hose. Back to square one, and more such fun another day!
